Primal Scream have announced they are taking their Mercury Prize-winning 1991 album Screamadelica on the road…again. They are playing 8 dates around the UK, starting in London in November and continuing the tour in March 2011.
They are also performing the album in its entirety in Australia for the Big Day Out festivals, where 13-year-old bogans from all around the country will have a chance to get pissed and punch on to what a Pitchfork review called an “imaginative hybrid of past, present and future captured … in vivid color and splendor”.

Not hip enough to be buying Foals singles on 7″ vinyl? You’re not alone. But worry not, as Foals shall be liberating the hitherto b-side-only song “Wear And Tear” for free digital download. This is the very final song from the Total Life Forever sessions to see the light of day can be snatched here.

Babyshambles and Libertines frontman Pete Doherty has been charged with possession of cocaine, in an inquiry nine months after Doherty was arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs that lead to the death of documentary filmmaker Robin Whitehead.
Turns out Doherty was carrying, but it was his old mate Wolfman that supplied. Wolfman (Peter Wolfe, a local poet best known for collaborating with Doherty on the sublime 2004 track For Lovers) has been charged and remains – like Doherty – on bail, ahead of a court appearance October 18.

Reformed glam-pop-rockers Suede are releasing a Best Of compilation (the cannily titled ‘The Best of Suede’) on November 1, just ahead of their second gig in seven years at London’s O2 Arena. The track listing represents a combination of singles and album tracks from their first 4 studio albums, as well as a few tracks from their stellar 2-disc B-Side compilation, ‘Sci-Fi Lullabies’.
Not represented is their fifth album, 2002s ‘A New Morning’. No one really cares though.

An NME online has revealed that people with computers and the urge to vote in online polls believe that Muse’s cover of Nina Simone’s sensual ‘Feeling Good’ is the best cover of all time. It came in ahead of covers of The Beatles’ ‘Twist n Shout’, Jeff Buckley’s ‘Hallelujah’ and Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt’. ‘Feeeling Good’ was actually a fantastically moody, sweltering release from Muse, and even better there’s not a trace of condescending political commentary. It’s just bawdy, knickerless fun.
Perhaps more amusing are the 10 worst covers of all time. Britney took first prize, for her efforts in covering Joan Jett’s ‘I Love Rock n Roll’. Special mentions also went to Robbie Williams for his take on Blur’s ‘Song 2′ and – mind bogglingly – Celine Dion covering AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’.

Mark Ronson was all ready off Amy Winehouse’s next album (she’s producing with Salaam Remi), however it appears he’s now off the Christmas card list too. Winehouse has claimed that Mark Ronson is “dead to me” over the Twitters, seemingly furious that he claimed responsibility for the shape of her 2006 album ‘Back to Black’. Ronson stated on Later…with Jools Holland that he “created the tracks” based on her soul demos.
If – and this an impromptu Hug-a-Wino-day sort of if – Ronson was exaggerating on Holland, and he was claiming bragging rights to something she had accomplished on her own, it would be a huge bummer for her. Her strung-out junkie antics undermine almost anything she says, and to have the credit for the one good thing under her belt taken away would be frustrating to say the least. Chin up, Wino.
